My latest obsession... Ochazuke. Ingredients:
Brown rice for carbohydrates, the low glycemic index type to avoid the sugar rush and also fiber.
Nori for its high protein content, with more usable protein than any other seaweed. Nori contains high quantities of iodine, iron, calcium, vitamins A, B and C and carotene.
Edamame for it contain poly- and monounsaturated or "good" fats, with no cholesterol and also being high in minerals, protein and fibre.
Anchovies for its polyunsaturated fatty acids, calcium and selenium. Being a smaller fish meaning that it has shorter lifespan spam and contain lesser impurities in its body.
Green tea for antioxidant effect. Need to say more?
Some instant dashi powder, chilli flakes and parsley later and you'll get a nutritious and delicious meal. Bon appetite !
