Tender, Creamy Scrambled Eggs

Try this and you'll never settle for rubbery, overcooked diner eggs again.

1. Melt a chunk of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.

2. Crack 3 Eggs into the pan. Add salt and pepper. With a rubber spatula, split the yolks and gently push around the eggs. Let cook a bit. Massage the eggs some more, careful not to mix them up too much. You want the bits of white to stay white and the yolks to stay yellow.

3. The entire process should take about 2 minutes. The eggs are ready when they're still moist but not runny. The key is to retain the moisture—that's where the flavor lies.

Galleria Time Tunnel Cameron :Back To The Past

I always think that my Mom is a compulsive hoarder. She likes to keep those old stuffs and it was very annoying at some point. It's like disturbing the whole concept of my idea of dream home. I prefer simple, white and chic and those old stuffs seem so out of place.

When we shift to our new home years ago, I threw away almost half of those old plates, cup, glasses, coin box and IDK what else. We don't really have the space for all these junks. Imagine Mom's horror when she found out about it. She lectured me for months after that.

No big deal! Those were junks anyway until I came to this place, Time Tunnel in Cameron Highlands during my recent visit. It feels kinda strange having to pay five bucks to see all these old junks. Even stranger was my feelings that moment. Seeing those things me brings me back to the past.

It wasn't really the object itself but the kind of feelings and memories that comes along with it. The yellow round coin box from Public Bank, I pestered my parents until they got me not one but two. Collecting rubber bands to weave a jumping rope. Sewing my own five stones, the fabric version. All these simple pleasure in my childhood and they don't even cost a thing. Unlike the kids today. They want nothing but the latest Nintendo, PS, IPad and so on. All those expensive stuffs. I might want to reconsider about adopting a child. Kids are so expensive nowadays.

Reminds me of my primary school days.I used to follow my friend home after school and hang out there. I love her mom's charcoal cooked rice. We also went to play at her parents farm and swam in the pond nearby, naked! We were only around 8 years old that time.

Let me pour you some tea. Have a seat and make yourself at home.

Beers memorabilias were much better in those days unlike some cheapskate lighters and keychains that they give nowadays.

I had lotsa bad hair and awful shoes days in my growing years thanks to Dad. He brought me to those barber shop for haircut. Gross....

What memories does this brings you?

Milkmaid was my household essential during my growing years. Now, I'd only get to enjoy it in kopitiams.

These coffee cups and saucers brings back the sense of nostalgia. Dad used to pour half of the coffee into the saucer to cool it down before I could take a sip directly from the saucer.

I'll need a bigger purse to carry this license around. As big as the passport and thick too.

80's babies never see this in their school. This is much interesting than what we had behind those brown exercise books.

Comments made in the 50's

You think I'll pay 30 cents for a haircut, forget about it.

If ciggaretes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. 20 cents a pack is ridiculous

Well, those were the days. Now, if both sets of my grandparents are still alive, I might just hit the jackpot.

A Letter For Smallie

Dear Smallie Mollie,

More than 13 months has past
I still refused to accept the fact
The fact that you had left me
Only after 4 days after I first held you

My heart was beating hard
As I cut open the sac
I prayed to the LORD
Prayed that you will be safe

I held my breath
Not knowing your fate
Until I heard your cries
Cries of survival

You are such a beautiful one
With your cream colored fur
Snuggling right in my palm
As I dried and cleaned you

Couldn't see your eyes yet
I can't wait for 2 weeks to pass
For you to open your eyes
To see this home and human of yours

I saw something protruding from your umbilical cord
You are already detached from your mother's cord
When I found you still wrapped in the sac
Oh my,tell me it's not happening to you

A girl,just what I want
I continued to clean you up
Getting you warm and to feed you
Your first drop of milk upon your arrival

Please LORD, please bless this puppy
You gave me the chance to save her the first time
Please do not let anything happen to her
I really wish that I could protect her from any suffering

My worst nightmare has been confirmed
The doctor diagnosed it as Gastroschisis
You could be fine after a while
Or you might not survive it at all

No word can describe the feeling
That I'm going through now
To know that I might see you grow
Or that these will be the last days

I've grown attached to you
Inhaling your baby scent
Tracing the contours of your paws
Trying to carve memories of you in my heart

The moment I dreaded has arrived
Will this be the last day you'll be with me?
You had to be operated immediately
But chance of survival wasn't too good

As the doctor come to take you from me
I whispered to you that everything will be fine
That was the biggest and only lie I told you
For I don't know what the destiny will bring

Needle was pierced in your veins
That was the last time that I'll ever see you
The moment that I'll remember forever
Seeing you still moving your little paws

I just want to stay around the operating theater
To wait for my baby to come out
Pacing around trying to comfort myself
Praying for a miracle

The light was off and the doctor came out alas
Is she the good news bearer?
Her words threw me off the ground
Something that I refused to accept

They had to put you to sleep
It was already a miracle
That you came this far
Can't let you suffer anymore

I wanted to scream my lungs out
Why is this happening to me?
YOU let me save her the first time
And now YOU want me to sign her life away?!

I broke down right there and then
Sobbing and crying uncontrollably

I held on to your lifeless body for the very last time

To say goodbye..........................

Goodbye to the baby that never lived
To open her eyes to see her human
The puppy that never get to bark...

My dear Smallie Mollie,

I can imagine you running around in this green meadow now
Waiting for me to be united with you again
We'll cross the bridge together into Heaven
Never again that we'll be parted ,forever

See you at the Rainbow Bridge...

xoxo

Some Discriminating Staff At BOH Tea Centre

Update:Appropriate action? I wonder what can they do?

We are kinda excited to go for the guided tour as mentioned in this signage.

The time comes but the guide never materialise. The staffs here are too busy chatting to even acknowledge us. I'm sure they are chatting as they are laughing very loud. Something about marriage, second marriage bla..bla..What are their purpose in this company? Wasting BOH's money by chitchats and ignoring the visitors?

We started to get impatient and W asked about the tour. Guess what? They said we can go in just like that! Then what about the signboard? So we sat there like idiots waiting while they chitchat? They could have tell us that earlier. The most f*cked up thing was a caucasian couple came walking in and the staff attends to them and say 'You may go in now' in a totally different tone, a friendlier one unlike the tone that they use on us.

There's a sourpuss staff in this souvenir shop too. I don't even have to spend a dime for sourvenir. Her sourpuss face is more than enough for me to remember this place. She walked passed us with that sourpuss face of hers and right to the back of the shop and stared out of the window for IDK how long. She isn't in this picture, I guess she still dreaming back there.

That is totally double standard that they practise. Is it just the staffs or it's BOH's policy to treat caucasians better than the local? Ignore the locals and treat the caucasians like GOD? Locals don't deserve a good service and smile? That is very disrespectful to us. It's a shame that this has happened.

If that's the case, they should put up a sign at their entrance then I would never step my foot in.

The View At BOH Tea Centre

The road to the tea centre is a winding one. One must have very good driving skill to negotiate through the road. Just like coming up from Tapah to Cameron Highlands!

Rain and drizzle alternating non stop from morning but this won't dampens our mood and the beautiful scenery. Here's where the plantation employees stays.

Life philosophy: If you wanna get to the top, you gotta work your ass off to be there.
My legs still ached from all those trekking and I had to use the umbrella as the make shift walking stick for support to go up these stairs and there's more to come.
You'll know it's worth all the hard work when you see these beautiful view from the top.

Blast from the past: BOH mascot with some models This is the tea maker's office which weigh the tea on weight bridge, production recording, tasting tea 'liquor' during the manufacturing process and to check humidity factors.
These machines are breaking and twisting the withered leaves to distort and rupture the leaves internal cells. Liberating and exposing its juices for fermentation.

Then the leaves are spread onto trays for the fermentation process that follows.

Then the leaves are being dried and sorted according to particle size by passing them through a series vibrating sieves with each grade of tea has its own density and flavour characteristics.

Enjoying the view from the overhanging platform. It's nice to be on the top.

The scone that almost got away. It's very windy and cool here. Our hot teas soon become cold teas.
