I have finally done sorting out my accessories! DIY'ed the watch and hairband holder and also the jewellery box slots. All you need is some black felt and glue gun. 

Let's just hope that they will always stay as tidy as it is now.

Hear no evil, See no evil , Speak no evil

It's the rule that you can't overwhelmed a small wall space with large picture and vice versa. How about a large wall space behind your sofa and you can't find or don't have the budget for a large picture to frame it? Just group a few pictures of the same size either in a row or four pictures together in a four-square to create the illusion of a bigger picture.

Here's what I did. I wanted a theme for my latest project that would meant something to me. So I took some selfies based on the quote "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil". Bought the A3 frames from Kaison, then blew up the pictures from my phone and TADAAA!!

Not exactly artistic type of pictures but my furkids aren't complaining about it and that's it. Another mission accomplished.

The Pussy Willow

The pussy willow is up right in the beautiful dragon motif vase that I bought years ago and Chinese New Year is just around the corner! The only time of the year that I can catch up on my sleep. Just a quick and gentle warning to all my loved ones, don't you ever dare to drag me up early in the morning. You will regret the outburst that you'll be going through if you do.

New Greens in The House

The 'Fault in our stars' inspired decor has to be replaced with a real plant as I was told that it's inauspicious to have a dead tree in house.

A pot of lively green bamboo palm is sitting in this spot now and the running light goes to the Billy bookcase highlighting my super mini bar.

Wishing Out Aloud

It's always good to wish for something aloud. The universe works in its own way to deliver you your wishes when you wanted it bad enough. 

I was wishing for a chaise lounge and a foot stool. Allocated a spot for them as I was trying to work out my budget. I daydreamed with Danielle how I will decorate them in future. 

Then one day Danielle sent me a picture of a stool saying she's giving it away and if I mind hands-me-down stuff. "No! Not at all! I can always reholstered and customized it" that was what I said. The best thing was she's going to help me out with this little DIY work. Nice, I have a foot stool now. Then I bought a piece of strong tweed grey fabric and 4 piece of chromed kitchen cabinet legs. A perfect combination. It was simply beautiful. No sewing required. Just stapling and sealing the edges with some ordinary glue.

Another pleasant surprise came up soon after. I was at work when Danielle called and sounded so urgent. I wondered what's wrong, she never calls out of a sudden like that. All sorts of things came across my mind during that few seconds. I can't believe it when she said there's a chaise lounge to be given away as well. Wow! Am I dreaming or what? This is really an awesome dream! 

More works were required to give it a new leash of life. The frame was sanded before it was sprayed with silver paint. Boy, it was a mess. The paint fume were all over the place during the process. A lot of cleaning to do afterwards. Then I reholstered it with grey velvet fabric. And as for the bolster, I had to leave it to the professional. The place where I bought all my fabrics provided the sewing service.

This is the most comfortable spot in the house now. I always fell asleep and even slept soundly right in this chaise lounge. Thanks to my buddy. 

My Billy Babies

Taking my Billy baby home with me. I bought two bigger one and got them shipped to my place along with all the other furniture I bought. Then I decided that I want another smaller one. Almost has to pay IKEA for this little baby to be shipped, luckily we managed to fit it into the car with my dining table (will elaborate more on the dining table in another post ). That's RM 75 saved.

As you already know, it will be just a plain white bookcase and I'm not going to leave it to that. I have some wallpapers sitting in the storeroom collecting dust, left from my shop's renovation a couple of years ago. Sometimes I just have no idea what to do with all those leftover materials. 

It was a very simple project. Just a few hours and I'm done with my very own customized Billy babies. Measurement taken, alligning the pattern, glue application and it's done.

I ran out of wallpaper for this one and I was so frustrated that I couldn't finish this one for a while. Who knows it turn out to be something good for me. I found this beautiful gold wrapping paper at half the price at British India store. It's was only RM 7.50 per piece. 

So far I'm loving this to the max compared with the one I did with the leftover wallpapers. The thing with interior decorating is that you won't know exactly how's the outcome going to be when you see certain things in the store. But these very things seem to be calling out for you, they stopped you in your tracks and turn around to look at them. From there you let your imaginations reigned.

Teal Christmas Wreath

Princess Emma says Merry Christmas!

As I put up some Christmas decoration at this new place, I was thinking how good if I don't have to put these back into storage immediately after the festive season or maybe don't even have to put it back. It will be wonderful! Lazy people like me always think of lazy and easy ways to work around things. Hmm.....

Here's the making of my little teal wreath. It's something that I can leave it hanging all year long with the little angels guarding my house.

Some teal yarn here with my Princess Emma.

It's quite time consuming trying to wrap the yarn around the wreath base having to keep the whole thing looking neat and tight without some odd gaps here and there. 

I made two of this. One with initial J for myself.

And the other one with initial D for my BFF Danielle.

Simple and Easy Way for Noise Reduction

It was a plain white canvas where I'm free to dictate how it's going to turn out and I'm so excited.

First of all I'm going to seal up that door. No, just sealing it won't do. I will need to do something to reduce the amount of noise going back and forth through that door. This kind of doors are usually hollow in the middle giving them a lot of empty space for the noise to go in, vibrates and reflected to the other side. This almost guaranteed lack of privacy for both side of the house. 

I got an acoustic chalk for this purpose. Sealing up the surrounding gap of the door. What's that? Acoustic chalk is another type of sealant that remains permanently flexible rather than hardened up like the regular chalk and reflects noises to every direction. This acoustic chalk is able to absorbs noises ( never knew I could be talking about types of sealant chalk).

Then I bought a queen size quilt from IKEA for RM9.90 only (this item is out of production for now) and hang it over the door for further noise absorption. With another layer of foam tape at the gaps with cardboard and I'm done.

Noise reduction works done but it's a total eyesore as can be seen here. I've got one BILLY bookcase up and I need one more to complete it.

 And TAHDA!! Here it is as if the door never existed in the first place
